So the journey begins....

I was sitting at home one night looking around the room and I spotted the Duaflex II sitting on my dresser and I thought that I should try to find some film and give it a try since I have had the camera for over 8 years now.  I picked it up at a yard sale one day and thought it would look cool sitting on my self with the rest of my vintage cameras.  I had every intention of buying film for it and seeing what kind of photos it would produce.  I was very excited about it because I loved Black & White photography more back then.  I searched for some film and to my surprise I found a site that sold 120 film ( I know that this camera doesnt take 120 film and I will get to that in a minute).  I waited for it to arrive and when it did I was so excited to go and shoot with it.  But to my surprise the 120 film didnt fit.  Wait a minute I thought, Why wont it fit?  I know I got the right film, it says 120 inside.  Well when I looked again, it said "This camera will not accept 120 Film"  Hmmm....  I guess I read that wrong.  Well as with a lot of things having A.D.D.  I said I would get around to getting 620 film and try it.  Well back on the shelf it went.  Now 8 years later, I sit and I look at the camera again and wonder if I should bother to buy some film and try it once again.  No.  Why bother?  Its just to much of a hassle.  Then it came to me in a dream. I know how I can use the camera.  Then all these ideas popped into my head.  I woke up and started to try things out.

This is what I tried out.  I was blown away by all the possibilities this could have.  I started to write things down and then thats when all the ideas were born.  I hope that I can get enough of these photos so that I can eventually publish a book in the next year or 2.

Welcome and Enjoy!!

Welcome everyone to the blog for www.Through2Lenses.com.  I will update this as I go and hopefully will have enough photos to complete a book by the end of next year.

This will be a collection of photographs shot through the lens of a Kodak Duaflex II camera. This camera was produced in 1950 to 1954. The camera cost $22.00 and took 620 film to produce 6x6 photos. It was fitted with a standard 72mm 1.8 Fixed lens with a focal range from 3.5' to infinity. Aperture was set for f8 f11 and f16 with shutter speed being instant which was about 1/30 of a second Plus "B". I bought this camera from a yard sale and it has been sitting on my self for the last 6 years collecting dust. This project will show a collection of life, love, sex, violence, family, drugs, landscapes and people.
I hope you enjoy and I look forward to hearing your feedback.
